Hade lite rotfrukter liggandes i kylen som jag behövde ta hand om innan de blev dåliga. Frågan blev då vad jag skulle göra. Fick en idé att jag skulle göra en paj, men som slutligen blev en rotfruktstårta.

Hade aldrig gjort någon sådan innan så jag gjorde den lite på vinst eller förlust men den blev förvånansvärt god och lyckad. Se nedan för recept om du vill testa själv. Detta recept är baserat på de rotfrukter som jag hade till förfogande, men det fungerar säkert lika bra med andra sorter.

Recept

• 2-3 st palsternackor
• 1/2 kålrot
• 1/2 rotselleri
• 2-3 morötter
• 1/2 purjolök
• 2-3 vitlöksklyftor
• Jag tog även med en röd paprika som låg i kylen.

Äggstanning

• 4 stora ägg
• 2 1/2 dl grädde
• 1 pkt (ca 200 gram) fetaost. Går lika bra med riven ost om man inte tycker om fetaost.
• Salt, peppar. Jag smaksatte även med örtsalt (Herbamare).
• Jag valde även att pressa och blanda i de ovanstående vitlökslyftorna i stanningen.

Sedan skivar du rotfrukterna tunt. Nu har jag tyvärr ingen Mandolin och mitt tålamod tog slut när jag använt rivjärnet ett tag, så jag körde allt lite lätt i matberedaren istället, inte för mycket bara så att det blir mos.

Smörj en form med löstagbara kanter och varva sedan med stanningen i formen.
Tips: använd bakplåtspapper i botten.
Grädda i ugnen på 175-180 grader i ca 45-60 minuter eller tills den blivit fast och fått fin färg.

Serveras med en klick Crème Fraîche och kanske lite sallad.

I’m really impressed with everything about this movie. They really, I mean really, thought about every single detail to get the authenticity in a movie that takes place between 20th and 30th century. Everything from the clothes, cars, the surroundings and so on. Even the ads in the news papers, you will notice it if you look at some stills.

George Valentin (Jean Dujardin) is the top star in still movies during the 20th century. His name appears on almost every movie until it is time for the big technology transition from silent movies, which he has a hard time to adjust to. This results in the end of his career and finally he goes bankrupt and his wife files for a divorce.

And then we have the lovely Peppy Miller, the girl with the beauty spot that everyone talks about. The very same girl who kissed George Valentin which created huge headlines in the news papers. She will soon become the new star everyone wants.

This is really a charming and brilliant movie with lots of humor. I highly recommend that you go to the nearest movie theater and see it, I do not think you will regret it.
